More than 60 crews are plowing arterial streets, and school and bus routes, spreading granular salt, pre-wet with brine as needed. Streets are partially to completely snow covered. Exercise caution for winter driving. Slow down, increase stopping distance and allow extra time to reach your destination.
Residents should stay alert for slick areas and black ice overnight and in the morning, especially on untreated streets and sidewalks.
A National Weather Service winter weather advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday. Three to six inches of snowfall are possible, which could create slick driving conditions and low visibility.
