Street Condition Update for Friday, December 22, 2017, 9:15 a.m.

With temperatures rising, City crews suspended routine street anti-ice operations at 8 a.m. but remain on standby to monitor weather conditions and respond to any needs. Streets are dry with some wet areas. Crews report good to normal driving conditions. All StarTran routes are on schedule.

Low wind chills could still cause patches of flash freezing on sidewalks, streets and bridges. Drivers are urged to use caution for the remainder of the morning, especially on residential streets. Leave plenty of room to stop, and allow extra time to reach destinations.

Lincoln Police Department reports 34 accidents since 4 p.m. Thursday when temperatures began to drop.

The National Weather Service is forecasting cloudy conditions through mid-morning, then gradual clearing with a high near 33 degrees.
