With the National Weather Service issuing a winter weather advisory between noon and 9 p.m. forecasting a change from drizzle to light freezing drizzle in the early afternoon, 17 city crews continue to pre-treat arterial streets, bridges and major intersections with anti-ice brine. Crews report normal driving conditions and no trouble areas for drivers. Applications will be completed by 8 a.m. for morning commuters. Conditions will be monitored and reassessed between 8 and 10 a.m. regarding the need for additional treatments.
Ice and snow accumulation is expected to be minimal. However, due to wind chills approaching single digits and falling pavement temperatures, isolated freezing and slick spots may occur throughout the afternoon and evening commutes. Drivers are urged to use caution.
