Category: Parking Ban Update

Winter Operations Update for Tuesday, February 18, 2025, 2:25 p.m.

A Snow Emergency and two parking bans are now in effect:

  • The snow emergency parking ban means parking is banned on both sides of emergency snow routes, arterial streets, school and bus routes. Maps of these routes are available at lincoln.ne.gov/snow under the “Parking Bans & Ordinances” tab. Please plan for alternate parking to allow plow crews room to clear the way safely and efficiently.
  • The residential parking ban means that parking is banned only on the odd numbered side of residential streets during 2025. This will assist plow crews in clearing neighborhood streets faster and more efficiently. A residential parking ban applies to streets that are not emergency snow routes, arterials or bus routes or included in a snow removal district.

City Operations: Winter operations crews are plowing and applying granular salt pre-wet with brine as needed to arterial, bus and school routes. Residential plowing operations are tentatively scheduled to end after 5 p.m. Tuesday, February 18. An additional update regarding parking bans may be sent prior to 8 p.m. if operations end sooner.

National Weather Service: A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect until noon Wednesday, February 19. Wind chills as low as 32 degrees below zero are possible.

Weather conditions: Light snow

Street conditions: Streets are partially snow covered.

Next update: 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 18
