Winter Operations Update for Friday, February 20, 2026, 2:30 p.m.

Parking bans:

A Snow Emergency and two parking bans are now in effect.

  • Snow Emergency Parking Ban: A snow emergency parking ban means parking is banned on both sides of emergency snow routes, arterial streets, school and bus routes. Maps of these routes are available at lincoln.ne.gov/snow under the “Parking Bans & Ordinances” tab. Please plan for alternate parking to allow crews room to clear the way safely and efficiently.
  • Residential Parking Ban: A residential parking ban means parking is banned only on the even-numbered side of residential streets during 2026. This will assist snowplow crews in clearing neighborhood streets faster and more efficiently. A residential parking ban applies to streets that are not emergency snow routes, arterials or bus routes or included in a snow removal district.

City Operations: Winter operations crews are plowing and applying granular salt pre-wet with brine to arterial routes.

Weather conditions: Sunny

Street conditions: Streets range from wet with slush to snow covered. Drivers should be alert for slick spots.

Next update: 8 p.m.
