Winter Operations Update for Thursday, January 11, 2024, 8 p.m.

Parking Bans: The City of Lincoln declared a Snow Emergency that began at 3 p.m. Thursday, January 11. One parking ban began at 8 p.m., Thursday, January 11:

A residential parking ban will begin at 6 a.m. Friday, January 12, in anticipation of forecasted conditions that may benefit from residential plowing.

City Operations: Winter operations crews are standing by, ready to respond to changing conditions.

National Weather Service: A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 9 p.m. Friday, January 12. Heavy snow is expected, with snow accumulations between four and six inches and winds gusting as high as 35 mph possible. Very cold wind chills are expected.

Weather conditions: Overcast and breezy.

Street conditions: Dry with isolated slick spots. Drivers should allow for extra travel time during the morning commute.
