Winter Operations Update for Monday, January 8, 2024, 8:10 p.m.

Parking bans: Lincoln Transportation and Utilities declared a Snow Emergency for the City of Lincoln, effective at 1 p.m. Monday, January 8. Two parking bans began at 1 p.m.

City Operations: Crews continue to treat and plow emergency, school and bus routes. Residential plowing began at 5 p.m.

National Weather Service: A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until noon Tuesday, January 9. Additional snow accumulations between three and seven inches, 45 mph wind gusts and light icing are possible.

Weather conditions: Snow

Street conditions: Arterial streets are wet, slick, and slushy. Surface temperatures will remain below freezing until Tuesday afternoon. Drivers should expect reduced visibility from blowing snow and slick spots, especially on untreated surfaces and lower volume streets. Drivers should allow for extra travel time during the morning commute.

StarTran: Bus service on all routes, including paratransit service, ended at 7 p.m. Bus service is expected to run as normal Tuesday, January 9.
