Lincoln Transportation and Utilities has declared a Snow Emergency for the City of Lincoln. No parking bans are in effect at this time, but residents are asked to prepare for removal of vehicles from emergency snow routes, bus routes and arterial streets, if necessary.
City Operations: Crews continue to patrol arterial routes plowing slush and snowpack as de-icing treatments help break down snow and ice.
National Weather Service: A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. tonight, Thursday, December 22. Extreme cold, blowing snow, and high winds with wind chills as low as 45 below zero are possible.
Weather conditions: Partly cloudy
Street conditions: Streets range from slush-covered to snow-packed. Drivers are urged to be cautious and watch for slick spots, especially on untreated streets.
Next update: 8 p.m. Thursday, December 22
