Winter Operations Update, Thursday, January 7, 2021, 5:30 a.m.

City operations:  Twenty material spreaders began applying granular salt pre-wet with brine to arterial streets and bus and school routes at midnight.

National Weather Service:  Hazardous Weather Outlook predicts light snow, drizzle and patchy fog.  This can create slick roads and reduced visibility for the morning commute.

Weather conditions:  Intermittent rain and mixed precipitation.

Street conditions:  Arterial streets are wet and near freezing.  Drivers should be alert for slick spots, especially on untreated surfaces
