As a second round of snow moves through the area, more than 60 City and contractor crews continue plowing and applying granular salt, pre-wet with brine to arterial streets. No parking bans are in effect at this time, however residents are encouraged to avoid parking on arterial routes. Crews are expected to turn their attention to school and bus routes after midnight once arterial streets are complete.
Streets and sidewalks are snow-covered and snow-packed with very slick conditions. Elective travel is discouraged.
The National Weather Service has extended its Winter Weather Advisory until 3 a.m. Two to four inches of snow is expected. Refreezing and black ice could impact street conditions overnight, especially on untreated streets and sidewalks. Slow down and increase following and stopping distance.
