Street Condition Update for Monday, January 21, 2019, 10:10 p.m.

Twenty City crews will begin patrolling arterials, school and bus routes at 12:01 a.m., applying granular salt, pre-wet with brine to slick areas resulting from a mix of freezing drizzle and sleet expected to move into the area overnight.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory through 9 p.m. Tuesday.  The system is expected to bring ice accumulations between one- and two-tenths of an inch and switch over to snow Tuesday afternoon, with accumulations between one and three inches.  Blowing snow with wind gusts as high as 35 mph may also reduce visibility.

Icy conditions can be tough to see. Drivers should slow down, leave themselves plenty of time to reach their destinations and increase stopping and following distance. Please give City crews room to work.
