Street Condition Update for Saturday, November 24, 2018, 8:20 p.m.

In anticipation of snow Sunday morning, 20 City crews will begin applying granular salt pre-wet with brine to arterial streets at 10 p.m. tonight.  Streets will not be pretreated with brine due to forecasted rain in advance of the snow.  Fifty-seven snowplows are on standby to clear arterial streets once one inch of accumulation is surpassed, which is expected to occur early Sunday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning from 2 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday for Lincoln and Lancaster County. Snow accumulation of up to four inches and wind gusting to 40 miles per hour are expected.

Please stay informed on the status of snow operations in Lincoln.  Additional information is available on the City website at snow.lincoln.ne.gov.  If you have questions, you may call the Public Works Snow Center at 402-441-7644.
