Starting at 2:30 p.m., 20 city crews began treating arterial streets with salt pre-wet with brine due to developing snow. Streets vary from wet to snow covered. Drivers are urged to use caution as temperatures continue to fall, creating slick areas. De-icers will continuously improve conditions, but drivers should slow down and increase following and stopping distance.
A National Weather Service winter weather advisory is in effect until midnight. Snow accumulation could total up to two inches.
