Street Condition Update for Saturday, February 24, 2018, 4:30 p.m.

Twenty City crews continue patrolling emergency snow routes, arterial, school and bus routes applying granular salt pre-wet with brine as an anti-icing treatment and liquid brine as a de-icing treatment.  All arterial routes have been treated, and quick response units have been addressing trouble spots.  Crews will continue to treat roads with ice fighting measures.

City crews report that streets are wet and slushy.  Traffic is moving normally.  Drivers are urged to use caution as bridges, overpasses and streets may be icy in some areas due to freezing rain creating slick spots.  Be alert for untreated paved surfaces.  Drivers should remember to leave extra distance between their vehicle, other drivers and emergency vehicles.

Freezing rain changed to light snow about 1:30 p.m. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory until 6 p.m. tonight.
