Street Condition Update for Thursday, February 22, 2018, 9:30 p.m.

Twenty-five City and contractor crews are patrolling emergency snow routes, arterial, school and bus routes spreading granular salt pre-wet with brine as an anti-icing treatment and liquid brine as a de-icing treatment where needed.

City crews report that arterial streets are clear with some areas of slush. Traffic is moving normally with some lower traffic areas containing slush. Over the next few hours, crews will continue patrolling roads and treating as needed. Once the rain moves out of the area streets will be monitored overnight with crews ready to respond if conditions change.

Light freezing rain started around 6 p.m. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory until midnight tonight. Drivers are urged to use caution as residential streets with snow may be slick.  Be alert for icy patches on streets and sidewalks tonight and during the morning commute Friday.
