Street Condition Update for Tuesday, January 23, 2018, 5:30 p.m.

At 4:30 p.m. today, City crews ended plowing and material spreading operations.  Starting at midnight, 10 units will be patrolling arterial streets and bridges, treating slick areas as needed.

Arterial streets are generally wet and beginning to dry to normal conditions.  Drivers are reminded to continue being cautious.  Be alert for moisture to refreeze overnight, creating slick areas on streets, parking lots and sidewalks.

Residents and businesses are responsible for clearing sidewalks, curb cuts at driveways and access to fire hydrants on their properties.  It is illegal to push or blow snow into or on any street, alley or sidewalk, and violators are subject to a fine.  Those who need help clearing sidewalks can call 402-441-7644 to request volunteer assistance or visit lincoln.ne.gov (keyword: snow angels) and find volunteers to help.
