Street Condition Update for Monday, January 22, 2018, 5 a.m.

Five City material spreading crews are patrolling arterial intersections and bridges and treating slick spots as they develop with granular salt pre-wet with brine.  Twenty combination vehicles with both plowing and material spreader capabilities are on standby through 6 a.m. when they will be deployed.  Crews currently report wet driving conditions, with minimal slush developing.

The National Weather Service has included Lancaster County in a blizzard warning, with three to six inches of snow accumulation expected before 6 p.m.  Sleet, freezing rain, blowing snow, high winds and limited visibility will create hazardous driving conditions.  Drivers are urged to use caution and be on alert for deteriorating weather conditions creating slick spots on streets and sidewalks.
