Seventy City and contractor crews continue plowing emergency snow routes and arterial streets, and treating roads with granular salt pre-wet with brine. Crews will continue working throughout the evening until Tuesday.
Crews report that arterial and residential streets vary from slush to snow-covered and snow packed, creating slick areas. The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning that remains in effect until 6 p.m. today. High winds and blowing snow are creating whiteout conditions, making travel dangerous. Up to two more inches of snow are expected.
Drivers are urged to use extreme caution. Be alert for deteriorating weather conditions creating slick areas on streets and sidewalks. Please avoid convenience trips and leave extra space between yourself and other drivers. And remember to give road crews plenty of room to work.
