Street Condition Update for Thursday, December 24, 2015, 9 a.m.

As a light snow continues to fall in Lincoln, City street maintenance operations have deployed 20 material spreader/plow combo units to spot treat and plow trouble areas, specifically bridges, overpasses and key intersections. The City is planning a full-scale plowing operation at 10 a.m. with 60 units working on emergency snow routes, major arterials, bus routes and school routes.

The City’s overnight brine application effort has helped prevent snow and ice from bonding to the pavement surfaces. Motorists are advised to slow down and use caution when driving today. StarTran reports that some buses are running as much as 10 to 20 minutes late.
