City street maintenance operations worked all day to plow on snow emergency routes, major arterials, bus routes and school routes. Once plowing operations were complete, crews applied deicer material on the main roads, and have completed material spreading operations to help guard against refreezing. Six city crews will remain on the roads until 7pm to address some bus routes and secondary arterials. After 7pm, crews will be put on standby and will remain prepared to respond to emergency service requests throughout the evening and overnight.
Lincoln Police Department reports 54 accidents as of 5:30. today. The public is advised to use caution and drive carefully, and make sure to stay clear and allow the plow teams the room they need to conduct their operations.
