Snow Removal Update for Thursday, December 24, 2015, 11:15 a.m.

City street maintenance operations have deployed 40 units to plow on snow emergency routes, major arterials, bus routes and school routes. Following plowing operations, street crews will apply deicer material on the main roads, The material spreading operation will continue into the late afternoon to help guard against refreezing.

Lincoln Police Department reports 30 accidents as of 11 a.m. today. The public is advised to use caution and drive carefully, and make sure to stay clear and allow the plow teams the room they need to conduct their operations.

StarTran reports that some buses are running as much as 10 to 20 minutes late.
