Parking Ban Update for Sunday, December 27, 2015, 2:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for our area from late tonight through late Monday night. Significant snowfall and high winds are expected in the Lincoln area beginning in the early morning hours of Monday, December 28th. In anticipation of the snow event, the City of Lincoln has declared a snow emergency effective at 12:00am Monday, December 28th.

A snow emergency means parking is banned on both sides of emergency snow routes, bus routes and other major arterial streets. A map of these routes is available at (keyword: snow).

Beginning at 8pm tonight, city crews will apply a pre-treatment of an anti-ice brine application to all emergency snow routes, major arterials, bus and school routes.

Upon completion of pre-treatment, material spreaders and plow teams are prepared to mobilize as the snow begins to accumulate.

The City reminds residents that is illegal to push or blow snow into or on any street, alley or sidewalk, and violators are subject to a fine. If you would like to volunteer to shovel snow for those who are unable to do so themselves, visit (keyword: snow angels) or call 402-441-7644 during regular business hours.
